Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions, Answered

Do I need to provide anything for my treatments?

For nails, I have my own nail desk which i will bring, but it is useful if you have a pair of dining chairs that we can use. The only other things I may need from you would be access to fresh water and a plug socket.

How long should I leave between waxing treatments?

Approximately 4-6 weeks is recommended between waxing. It only takes a couple of sessions to work out the best schedule for you based on your rate of hair growth.

Is waxing painful?

Sadly, yes. However, this is very much dependent on your own pain threshold. Compared to childbirth it's a gentle stroll in the park! The one guarantee is that even if you are a waxing virgin, the discomfort does decrease as your treatments go on. Your first wax will be the most uncomfortable. Taking a couple of painkillers an hour before treatment can help if you are particularly sensitive.

Am I expected to talk during my massage?

This is entirely a personal choice. If you'd like to chat during your massage we can. But if you'd prefer to stay silent and simply concentrate on the feelings, that's fine too.

I can't be doing with that tinkly spa music, do we have to listen to it?

Not at all. I always come armed with my bluetooth speaker and a big music library. We can listen to punk rock during your treatments if that's what floats your boat! Equally, I'm happy to forego the music entirely. It's your treatment in your home, so you are in control.

Why do i need a patch test when I've already had one with a previous therapist?

I cannot guarantee that the products I'm using will be the same as your previous therapist, therefore it is vitally important to undergo a fresh patch test. Further to this, even if you have used exactly the same products the past, we can develop allergies to products over time, so always best to maintain regular patch tests anyway. The last thing anyone wants is to have products put onto their face (particularly near the delicate eye area) only to discover that they have an aggressive allergic reaction to something contained within it.

What is a lash lift?

In very basic terms a lash lift is a perm for your eyelashes. You eyelashes are curled upwards so that more of your lash can be seen, giving the appearance of a longer lash. It is a fantastic low maintenance option if you want to use mascara less often. It lasts approximately 6-8weeks and gets best results when an eyelash tint is applied at the same time.
